Grammer

The grammer of a baisic gaidhlig sentance is :Verb, Subject, objective.

For example, "the cat sat on the table":

Suidh an cat air an bord. (literally: sat the cat on the table)

Also, when describeing somthing, you put the describing word after the subject, e.g. "the big cat" is "An Cat Mor."

Some pronounciation.

Bh: say it almost like "V" e.g. "Bha" (it was) is "Va"
Th: The T is silent here, so "Tha" (it is) is "Ha"
Ear: always said like it is in "pear"
D: When near an "e", it sounds like a "j", so "dearag" (red)is "Jear-ag"
C: Is always like a "k".
S: Treat it as you normally would, except before "I" or "e" S=Sh. So, "Side" (weather) is "Sheee-je" and "Seumas" (james) is "Shame-us".
DH: Try saying G in the back of the throat. It should sound like a cross between "Guh" and "The".
