This was based on something someone in the Deathnote manga said, and I'm not sure who, because even though I read every comic I buy at least twice, I've only read the quote once. Baisicly, my idea was that he stayed awake because he was on a near constant sugar high.
While doing this I looked up both of these characters on Wikipedia, and it really helped. Especially the part where it says what L meant when he told Misa that if you're smart, you can eat as much as you want (I thought he meant that he worked out a way to stay thin depspite his habit of eating sweets, though the truth fits my theory more ^^;).
Light's hair was done with one of the preset screentones that came with my paint.NET program while it was at it's original size, and the dots just seem to have merged when I shrunk it.
This work contained many firsts. For one thing, it was the first time in a long time that I had drawn a simple fan-art, first time I planned to use 'chibi' characters in a comic, the first time I expermented with a different way of editing and, most notably, the first time I used a lettering guide as opposed to a computer font. What do you think? Do you think that my comics were better looking with a computer font? Do you think that all-caps would look better? I really don't want to asume that a technique is good just because I read it is anymore.
